  • Optic vesicles stretch out and form on day 11.

  • The purpose of the optic vesicle is to make way for full eye development.

  • Walls of the Optic Vesicles thicken on day 11.

  • Optic Vesicles create an inner thinner layer on day 12.

  • Optic Vesicles create a thinner outer layer that will eventually be the pigmented layer of the retina on day 12.

  • The purpose of the pigmented layer is to help the eye see color.

  • Pigment granules appear on the surface on day 13.

  • Also, the surface ectoderm will create the lens of the eye.

  • Towards the end of the process the blood vessels will connect and form around the eye.
